1963-2000
One of Sir Clive Sinclair's longest-running preoccupations
has been the production of tiny radios. During the 1960s and
again in the 1990s, Sinclair produced a variety of radios
invariably described as "the smallest ever made".
They may not always have matched up to this description, but
they certainly were very small and occasionally quite inventive
- like the peculiar wristwatch radio and Z1 in-ear radio,
barely bigger than a hearing aid. Some of them were big sellers,
most famously the long-running Micromatic, and many are collector's
items today.
