Aim of the game
Many centuries ago, the Miracle Engineers had planned and built
the great crystal roads that led across the planet Plexar. Now the
Miracle Engineers are long since dead and the primitive native
Plexarians have taken their place. Unlike their technological
predecessors, the Plexarians are a superstitious race who send victims
along the now-dangerous crystal roads to appease their deities. Few
return from this journey - but as one of the "volunteers", can you
make it?
Game play
the crystal roads
themselves, and the diamond towers where the roads meet and
interconnect, joining continent to continent. Each road consists of
an almost checkerboard-like series of interlocking squares, some of
which are instantly lethal to the touch. Others do odd things to your
movement, shunting you sideways, giving you a turbo jump, or making
you move randomly.
If you reach the end of a roadway, you enter one of the diamond
towers. Inside is a labyrinth of roadways, dotted with hazards like
one-way conveyors, vanishing areas, patrolling droids and colonies
of pulsing jellies. A peril port at the top left of the screen changes
colour to signify imminent danger; don't forget the time limit!
