Aim of the game
To quote the original instructions (written in Japlish):
"Ghosts'n'Goblins is the classic fighting fantasy story, heroic knight
to rescue beautiful maiden from clutches of demonic Overlord".
Game play
The unnamed knight must battle his way through five zones
filled with the usual selection of monsters and other nasty creatures:
1) Graveyard
2) Dark Forest
3) Ice Palace
4) Monsters' Den
5) Cavern System
At the end of each zone is a demon to kill - not an easy task! Some
creatures carry pots which they drop when they die. Inside the pot
is an object, usually a weapon, which you can pick up. There are
three weapons, with different rates of fire: the slowest is the fire
bomb, the lance is what you start with, while the best is the dagger.
You start with a suit of armour which will disintegrate if you hit a
monster, leaving you in your underwear; another hit will be fatal.
