Aim of the game

The Golden Broom is the ultimate prize for witches and you want to get your hands on it! You have found a spell that should allow you to defeat the pumpkins that guard the broom. Unfortunately the spell needs six rather obscure ingredients which you will need to collect.

Game play

The ingredients can be found behind six coloured doors which need six coloured keys to unlock. Your first task is thus to find these keys, which are usually to be seen lying at the foot of trees around the land. As you fly around in search of them you will be attacked by various enemies - bats, fireballs, pumpkins and seagulls, to name a few - which you can shoot. However, each shot costs you one magic point, and as each of your eight lives (or hags) only has 99 points to start with, you can't afford to be wasteful. With the correct key you can get through the coloured door and into the caverns beyond. Each cavern is, in effect, a platform game in which you will have to negotiate the various obstacles in order to reach the ingredient you are seeking. Once you've got it, return home in order to put it in the cauldron. After collecting the six ingredients you will be able to complete the anti-pumpkin spell and collect the Golden Broom from behind the green door.

"A large, engaging and difficult game"

A simple but enjoyable arcade game. Shame about the dodgy scrolling though.

Cursor keys recommended!
