Since distributions and software versions is an ongoing issue
Not just with raid but other software (eg StarOffice).

Why not create a matrix of Distribution vs Package(s)
for all those distribution/version dependent packages.

Put it in a single file in the howto, call it "versions"
or README or something. This way people at least
have a fighting chance of picking the right
combination. Experimental packages could be indentified
as such to caution users.
